Yes! I know how nerve-wracking it can be to be in front of the camera sometimes. My goal as your photographer is to make you as comfortable as possible and provide direction for you for what not only looks natural but best. Most of us are not used to being in front of the camera, but that’s where I come in.
Many clients say this and that they are awkward and not one of them has seen their photos and thought they looked so. It will go better than you think, I promise!
I have young children and am worried they will be totally wild and no shots will turn out. Can we still work with you?
Yes. I totally understand parents concerns when it comes to young and crazy kids. I have two of my own, so I get it! Trust me, that I have seen it all, and I bet your kids will not be the worst I’ve seen 😉 It’s still absolutely worth documenting your family memories, even if they aren’t “perfect.” I work with children all the time and have a few tricks up my sleeve to maintain attention. If all else fails, you will get plenty of candid, real life photos. And it always turns out a lot better than clients think!
Do I get to pick my own photos?
Yes (and no). An average session yields me 250-300+ images. I look through all the images to narrow it down to the absolute best ones. All sessions get a full gallery to choose their number of selected images included with their package (usually about 15). You select the images you want and are able to purchase additional images if you would like.
Do we get all the photos you take or RAW/unedited images?
No. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that are not “frame worthy.” I save you time by going through hundreds of photos and deliver the best possible ones. RAW and unedited images are never released as they are not a full representation of my work.
Do we get a full image release or copyright release?
A full image release – non-watermarked images that you can print anywhere – is included with every package. I want you to fully enjoy your photos however you wish. Photos are always copyrighted to me, the original author and copyright credit is not transferred.
How are photos delivered?
I currently use a private online photo gallery tool that is emailed directly to you. This album allows for high quality image download of all your images that is available for 14 days.
How do you edit photos? Can I request specific photo edits?
My editing style is what I would call minimal and “vintage.” I like to brighten photos to give the most light and warmth but generally like to keep photos looking as natural as possible.
If you have any specific edits you would like, we can discuss this before and after your shoot to ensure you get photos you love.
Can I request something specific for my shoot, like poses or to bring my dog?
Yes! I would be more than happy to have a pre-session meeting with you via email or in person to discuss poses, what to wear, location options, time of day, etc.
I love bringing pets into family shoots too. The more (and the furrier) the merrier!
I want to shoot in a really rocky/remote/possibly dangerous location. Will you go there?
If we don’t need a permit to shoot there/it is not illegal to visit, then yes! I am more than happy to throw on my hiking boots to get an awesome backdrop.
Do you do newborns, babies, children, weddings, couples, engagements, birthday parties, smash cakes, or other types of photography?
I currently work with children of all ages from hours old and up, families of all sizes, couples/engagements, and military events. At this time, I do not shoot weddings or elopements. Please inquire for availability about other events.
Where do you travel to?
I currently service Oahu, Hawaii but am not available for travel at this time.
What payment do you accept?
I accept cash, personal checks or PayPal at the time of the session.
If you have any other questions that aren’t listed here, please feel free to contact me.
