This has been my favorite redesign to date for three reasons: mint green, coffee, and Catherine was a breeze to work with. Having a client on the same page as you (and likewise a designer on the same page as the client) is a huge blessing for both parties involved!
Here’s a look at Catherine’s blog before.
She was on WordPress.com, not yet self hosted and never truly felt like she could get a design she loved.
The scope of Catherine’s redesign included:
- migrating her old blog to WordPress self-hosted
- complete rebranding including:
- custom header
- side bar links
- post signature
- custom widget titles
- installation of theme & font/color customization
Catherine’s site is using one of my favorite themes ever, Foodie Pro. It’s so easy to customize, looks unique on each blog with the right changes, and offers a great recipes index page for food bloggers like Catherine.
The inspiration for this redesign was based on grey, mint green, simplicity, and a coffee-inspired image to display Catherine’s love of coffee and tie in with her cup site title.
Her site after.
One of my favorite features of her site is the custom widget titles in the font we chose to work with for her name. It ties the whole design together and offers a fun art-like visual for the eye to look at while still being functional as a text.
