Self Portraits: 2017

Despite usually being behind the camera, sometimes I like to take a step in front of it too.

Here are some self portraits from 2017. All photos taken and edited by me, taken with 35mm.

It’s been a fun experience to create both in front of and behind the camera this year.

Zurina’s Christmas Session: 11 Months

If you’ve been following along with my blogs at all, Zurina has been doing monthly sessions with me since birth. Unfortunately her family moved away earlier than they thought, so this was my very last session with her!

I’m so bummed I just missed her first birthday, but I am so glad I got to have 12 sessions – newborn to 11 months! – with this sweet girl. She is such a joy and I’ll truly miss working with her.

It was so fun to see her grow throughout the year. Grow-with-me sessions are my absolute favorite!

The G Family

The G family recently moved to Hawaii and needed their first photos as a family on this beautiful island. We had fun exploring at Kualoa for a lifestyle session of the four of them.

We had a lot of fun exploring the area. They are just too cute! This spot has definitely become one of my new favorites on the Windward side.

Zurina: 10 Months

For all of 2017, I’ve photographed this little beauty every month to document her growth and changes in the first year.

It’s been not only fun but a blessing to get to know her parents and watch her blossom and grow. It really is crazy how much bigger she is every time I see her, even though it’s only been a few weeks!

I don’t normally blog these sessions, but this one was a little more creative and just so “her.” She’s 11 months.

Her mom provided the mirror and dress (both from Target, woot!). She saw the idea on Pinterest. What a great idea it was! I’ve had a few people ask about a session like this, so be on the lookout for Mirror Mini Sessions in the spring!

Welcoming Baby James | Oahu Fresh 48 Photographer

This session is near and dear to my heart. I was overjoyed when my long-time client and friend asked me to do this session for her newest little boy.

I met his mama when I did her first son’s newborn photos only a year prior. I was able to photograph their first son the whole first year of his life and watch him grow into such a happy little guy. It is so neat to work with families over time as things change.

James, you have some sweet parents and one great big brother to take care of you!

Welcome to the world, little one.
